Name Entry Tips

Follow these steps to get the most accurate search results.

Last Name

  • Enter the last name exactly as it appears.
  • Avoid spelling variations or abbreviations — the system requires an exact match.

First Name

  • Enter the full first name.
  • The system automatically checks common first-name variations.

Date of Birth (DOB)

  • Enter the full date of birth: Month, Day, and Year.
  • The system searches the exact DOB and also includes a ±3-year range.

If you enter , results may include records from 1987-1993.

Middle Initial (Optional)

Adding a middle initial helps narrow results while keeping flexibility. If you enter a middle initial, the system searches:

  • Names that start with that initial,
  • Names without a middle name, and
  • Exact matches to that initial.
